Last night, November 28, 2009, Bing and I attended a poetry session in one of the bar houses in Iloilo City. The theme of the session focused on sex in poetry.
It was attended by about twenty contemprary Panay poets, and poetry lovers. One guest came from Batangas, a friend of Felino Garcia. Her name is Hoahlyn Cabrera Manahan, a UP Diliman graduate student. She is a poet. Some of her poems have been published in emanilapoetry.com
Some of those who attended the session were Pietros Val Patricio, Noel de Leon from the University of San Agustin; Robbie Lyn Fruto, Leslie Baylon, Ana Katrina J. Brasileno; Adel Panficar and Mae Sheilou Conserva, of Iloilo National High School; Blezi Casjae, Kharlle John Hautea, of the University of Iloilo Pen; Angie Basco, Sofia Espanola, Cyril Lingyan, of John B. Lacson Foundation University-Molo; Felino Garcia, Emmanuel Lerona, John Ryan Recabar, all alumni of the University of the Philippines Visayas. The other poet who came was Mel Turao, a product of the University of San Agustin, Iloilo City.
There were poetry readings from those who came.
