Ode to A New Dawn ( Presidential Inauguration Day )

as night turns into day
there is a beautiful changing of hues
from navy blue to a purple haze
to an orange almost pink and yellow blaze
the dawn of light
as the brightness of the brand new day
systematically erases the remnants of the blue and crimson shadows
into daybreak
with each glimmer of light
is a ray of hope
it is a new day
and tomorrow has come
today we have a new President
and hope starts to stir
in the hearts of the people
once again... maybe it will be a better day
maybe we can have a better life
maybe in the future, our children can live in our beautiful country
in peace, in harmony and without poverty
maybe the new government, the new leadership
will make the laws we really need
to uplift the common man's plight
to make it easier for him or her
to earn a decent living
maybe this new dawn will bring with it the realization in each and everyone
that we all hold the future in our hands
Welcome new day, new hope!
Here's to a brighter tomorrow!
